It is nestled in the hills where leopard still dare to roam, an exclusive safari-style tented camp offering breathtaking views of the Vredefort Dome and its surroundings.

More than 2 billion years ago a giant meteorite struck the earth. This unique landscape, better known as the Vredefort Dome, hosts a diversity of plant, bird, and animal life unsurpassed anywhere in South Africa.

This bio-diversity, the absence of malaria and the moderate climate make this the perfect Bushveld hideaway - only 90 minutes away from Johannesburg.

At Thwane Bush Camp you will find baboons, jackal, unique birds, a variety of game and a very clever leopard that will on a frequent basis catch some game and always somehow manage to evade his pursuers.

SAFARI TENTS

Unwind in the comfort of a luxury tent, all en suite, sleeping up to five guests. The only sounds waking you up will be those of mother nature herself!

The Boma and Dining area is set in the centre of the tents. The Rooikat Bush Bar is a welcome sight to all after a long day's work in the classroom or after spending the day in the bush or on the river. The camp fire lapa is adjacent to the main Boma where traditional South African cuisine is enjoyed. Later, a display of drumming can be watched under an Africa sky.

CONFERENCING

The Wildebeest Outdoor conference room seats 50 people in cinema-style and 30 people in a U-shape. Pens & paper are supplied with all standard packages. Bookings to be made in advance.

Thwane Bush Camp has recently added the Donga facilities for family reunions, weddings and year-end functions. You may also tie the knot at Nature's Pulpit.

We welcome corporate group getaways, and team building events, there is something for everyone to do - from the nature lover to the adrenaline junkie.
